Latest contest :: Senior cup sees sensational stars seize shiny prize!
Kibworth made their annual Voyage to Blackpool for this year's Spring Festival on the 20th May. They played in the Senior Cup this year amongst a strong field of 18 bands with the intention of being placed in the top four which would see them promoted to the Grand Shield in 2008. The journey was peaceful for all, the sun was shining, the sea was blue and the band was excited about putting on a good performance. Ok, well the M6 was jammed, the sky was grey and as was the sea, but the band were still looking forward to playing their little hearts out... They were drawn number 8 much to the pleasure of those players who wanted to nip to the local pub to watch the FA cup! They gave a solid performance to a sizeable audience (as well as adjudicators David Read and Stephen Mead) and came away feeling pleased with their efforts. After a day buying sticks of rocks, watching the FA cup, listening to the competition, paddling and admiring the picturesque views of beautiful Blackpool everybody was elated to hear of the result... they were placed 3rd which guarantees them a place in next year's Grand shield. All in all, a great weekend and a good time had by all!
