Whats Happening
After a busy summer the Band are preparing for a concert in St Cuthberts Church, Great Glen on November 1st. Tickets, to include a glass of wine are on sale at £10 from Kibworth Post Office or from Lili Parrington on 0116 259 2528 with the proceeds going to the new Church Porch building fund. Then its off to Church again as the Band leads the Scouts, Guides and Community representatives for the Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service on November 9th . The following Sunday will see the Band competing in the Leicestershire Brass Band Contest, to be held this year at Burleigh Community College, Loughborough, Then, of course, it will be thoughts of the Christmas Concerts where once again we will be joined by the Junior School Choir and the youngsters of Kibworth Centenary Youth Brass. These concerts are on December 6th & 7th The Band are still rebuilding and are delighted to report that Lauren-Marie White, Guy Morely, Nick Mott all students at Birmingham Conservatoire, will be rejoining us as they start their second year of study. Lauren & Guy both originate from the North West whilst Nick is from Northamptonshire. Other new faces in the Band are Tracey Colston on Solo Horn and Diane Bonser on Euphonium together with Kirsty Belford on 2nd horn and Clara Catt on Flugel Horn Gary Wyatt continues to be our MD though his commitments to the RAF Band and as a player with Desford means that he cannot always be with us. Anyone looking at our letterhead will see that he has been studying and earlier this year was awarded a diploma in conducting from the Royal School of Music so allowing him to add DipABRSM after his name. Congratulations Gary.
